THE GREAT FERRET ESCAPE
The Woodside Animal Welfare Trust, already full to the brim with unwanted pets, is experiencing an unusual influx of stray ferrets.
Manager Debbie Haynes tells us:
“ We’ve had the occasional ferret from time to time but over the last month we’ve had nine brought in. Two were claimed very quickly and two more were adopted, but we now have five needing new homes.”
The latest arrival has been called Hobnob and is a very placid polecat type. Due to the increasing numbers, a pen has been made over to give the ferrets lots of room to play and hide away. Debbie continues:
“ They’re great fun to watch and they are really energetic. However ferrets are not everyone’s idea of a perfect pet so we would welcome any experienced owners willing to take them on.”
