Ren

We are looking for patient, understanding owners to help handsome Ren overcome his worries and blossom into a loving, loyal companion.

This beautiful boy has so much potential, and with just a little time and reassurance, Ren’s true personality shines through, going from a nervous boy to a playful, affection dog who loves chasing a ball.

Ren, a 3 year old Collie x GSD, was recently returned to the sanctuary alongside fellow ex-Woodsider Luna. Their owners were unable to cope with both of them and, since being at the sanctuary, staff have realised Ren and Luna would be happier in separate homes.

Once he gets to know you, Ren is a very loving, attentive boy who will lean in for a cuddle and is eager to please. He is frightened of new people and will bark and back away when he first meets them but, once he realises they are not a threat, it does not take long for Ren to overcome his fears. Offer Ren a tasty treat or a ball to play with, and very quickly this boy will be your best friend!

A tennis ball is definitely Ren’s favourite thing and he loves retrieving it to bring back to his carers. He has mixed well with other dogs here at Woodside and whilst he’s happy to be with them, he tends to keep himself to himself – unless there is a ball involved.

Ren is good with children and could live with children aged eight and over, due to his anxieties. He has not previously been around cats.
